Weekly Weigh In: Strange Days, Yet Strangely Still a Good Week!

Alexis {Diva on a Diet}'s Official Weight Watchers Weigh In July 10, 2013It’s been a bizzare-o week. Do you want the good news or the bad news first? Well, I want to leave off on a high note, so the bad news first it is…

The bad…

It’s that TOM. I’m bloated. I’m emotional. Need I continue?

I feel like I should have lost way more weight than I did this week. Again proving that what I did last week, not this week, affects my weekly weigh ins. I was about 70 points over last week and lost 2.5 lbs, so clearly all those extra points kept me from losing much this week. Oh, and then their’s that bloating mentioned above.

And here’s the bizzare-o part. As many of you saw on twitter, I ended up in urgent care on Friday. I have come down with some unexplained health issues. Gotta love that. What started as some tingling in my face last Wednesday, progressively got worse, along with some nausea and finally a killer headache. I figured I should make sure I wasn’t dying and went to the urgent care folks after work. There were a myriad of things it could be. 1) severe dehydration (ruled out with a pee test), 2) stroke (ruled out with a neurological test of my reflexes and vision), 3) vitamin or deficiency or electrolyte imbalance (not ruled out because their blood machine was broken), 4) migraine, 5) pinched nerve from all the new working out I’m doing, 6) a milion other random neurological disorders, 6) anxiety. So, after the Doc in the Box determined it was not life threatening, I walked away without an answer, was given Xanax because the doc thought part of it was anxiety and it would desensitize me from feeling the tingling so much, and was told me to follow up with my primary doctor and rest. While I am feeling ok now, I still have slight tingling in my face and every once in a while on my body. The tingling is not painful, but it’s really annoying, makes me worry, and makes me itch, so I sort of feel like a crack-head scratching myself all the time! So I’m seeing my regular doc on Friday. I get the feeling I will leave my appointment with no clue as to what is going on, so throw some positive vibes out there in the universe for me! But wait, here’s what we really want to hear…

The Good…

I tracked all my food and activity this week! Umm, yay! That’s two weeks in a row, baby! And although I did use most of my activity points, I did not go over points at all this week! In fact, I still had 7 AP’s left!

I tried some new veggie recipes! Some awesome (like this one, hopefully to be posted soon), some not so good! And I have plans to try some new things in the coming weeks! A little change up in the eating routine is good!

I was still able to do 5 day so f of my personal Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 challenge this week, despite my random health issues! Jill suggests doing 5-6 days a week, so I consider that still on track! Two more weeks, kids, and I can tell you how it all went down!

And the “boy” I am seeing got back into town Friday after being gone for almost 2 weeks, and while I was not a ton of fun due to my crazy health crap, it was so nice to finally see him again and spend most of my weekend with him. It definitely helped me to feel better! He makes me happy. :) And sex is cardio, right? Whoops, I may have said too much!

And the final good news is at least I still lost weight this week!!! It may be a smidgen, but it’s still something! Not to mention, it looks like my body fat percentage is starting to go down, so that can’t be bad! And I’m still feeling motivated and I am so happy that my mojo is back!

Oh, and how about some more good news for someone other than me!?! My twitter gal pal Mae over at Reduced Fat Girl, that I’ve featured here on Fit Friends Friday, had her Weight Watchers Success Story go up over on the Weight Watchers site! Check her out. She’s fab.

Weight: 131.1 lbs

Yikes that’s so scary about Urgent Care! It’s always so much worse when you still don’t know what went wrong. Hope you find out soon!

It is hard not to thing something is really wrong with you when your body is doing weird things! But it wouldn’t be the first time something happened to me that couldn’t be explained! I’m keeping hope alive that there is an answer and it will all go away, and it’s not one of those “learn to live with” situations!

I hope you feel better soon! Unexplained medical stuff can be so stressful. I wanted to let you know that you saying you went over your points made me log into WW and actually log the cupcake I ate for dinner instead of ignoring it like I was planning. Not tracking doesn’t mean I it magically didn’t happen. Thanks for being an inspiration!

Yes, it is a little stressful, but I’m managing to move on! Working with my doctor to figure out what is going on! And yes, I have fallen victim to just not tracking things at all the last few months too, but I know that was one of the keys to how I got here, so I’m glad I could inspire you!

    Hope you are feeling better!

Thanks, Lisa! I am feeling better, just still having the distracting tingling. My doctor’s visit today offered no immediate reason or cure, but we are working to figure it out!

You ought to get tested for Lyme Disease. Your symptoms go along with LD and it can be hard for doctors to diagnose.

Thank you so much for the tip! I am asking everyone I can if they have ever heard of anything like this! I did find out today that my calcium levels are high, which most like is related to over activity of the thyroid, and since I actually have an under active thyroid and am on medication, it may be that I am over-medicated since losing all this weight! I am hoping it is as easy as adjusting my dose! If not, I will definitely be bring this to my doctor’s attention! I really appreciate it!
