Well, yes, it was over a week ago, but it was the MMRF Race for Research Atlanta! And my first real race! So here is my, I guess, inaugural RACE RECAP! I knew full out that I could run 3.1 miles. I have done 6.5 miles total. I mean, I could run a 10K, right? But I haven’t done an official race yet. And this was the race I wanted to do as my first one. Why, as there there is no race bling, you ask? Well, I have been a part of this team for the last 5 years. I was never a runner, I was a walker, and well, I never actually walked the whole 3.1 miles. We walked the 1 mile fun run, volunteered to give out water, etc. I’ve “participated” in this race for the last 5 years, but it’s the first time I “RAN” this race! It means a lot to me! I definitely made a rookie move and ran faster than normal in the beginning. I wanted to die in that last mile! Not to mention I hadn’t run in almost a week and a half before it! I wanted to puke! But my only goal was to not stop… run the whole thing. And I did it!!! My official time was 31:44… a 10:14 min/mi pace, which is my fastest pace! And I was soooo psyched to see one of my amazing besties, B, show up, and well, she is the reason why I have pictures of me running and finishing this race! I love her! I’m definitely doing more! I hope you will follow me!
