Ok, so yeah, my weigh-in day is on Wednesday, but I ended up going out on a last minute “singles dinner” thing on Wednesday evening, and then Thursday evening ended up getting filled up with my run, grocery shopping, laundry, and finding an outfit to wear because I am happy to report that due to my spontaneous attendance at this dinner on Wednesday, I now have a date tonight! Yay! So I ran on the treadmill this morning to get my work out in (yes, that’s another AM workout for this non-morning person! Double yay!), so I can treat myself to a mani/pedi after work and then head out to meet my date for dinner! So I thought I would try to sneak in a short update, as not to keep you anxiously awaiting this week’s update! (ahhh, ha ha, I crack myself up! As if I am ever on time with updates! I can dream…)
So back to the topic at hand. What a crazy loss I had this week! 3.6 lbs. Whoa! I was actually afraid that I wouldn’t really lose anything, as there was lots of beer at Summerfest on Saturday, visits to a Mexican and Thai restaurants that also resulted in a few rounds of leftovers for dinner. I mean with so many meals I didn’t prepare, I was sure I was underestimating what I ate. I went over my Weekly PointsPlus by 1 with those not-conservative-enough estimations. But I looked back, and the last month hasn’t exactly been stellar in the losing category… -1.5, +1 and -0.4 lbs for the last three weeks, so maybe some more of the hard work I put in earlier is showing up now! In fact, I just told Andrea (@infiknits), that I’ve learned that the number on the scale is never a direct reflection on what I did the last 7 days!
And Gigi (@shrinkme723) said, “It’s all that running!!” However, I literally just pulled out a run longer than 12 minutes for the first time ever on Monday! I went for 43 minutes, and probably walked around 10 minutes of it. Ok, so it’s jogging, but that’s running to a former fatty (who also hated running when she was skinny!)! So I am adding in running 3 days away (instead of walking) in prep for my first ever 5K in November in which I want to run the entire thing. Well, you can see my last post to read way more than you really wanted to about that! But I did run again last night… this time for 37 minutes STRAIGHT! and I ran 27 minutes straight this morning!
And moving right along, you may recall another update about not having any before and after pictures. I think it’s partly because I still don’t want to post an awful before picture and actually have to show the world just how big I let myself get, but I also have to accept that I did, and there are pictures of my out there anyway, and it should be a hard and fast reminder of where I’ve been, how far I’ve come, and where I never want to be again! So without any further ado, I present to you my first “before & after…” ok, maybe “before & progress” because I am still on the journey, but proof of my success so far none-the-less! 😉
