Well, I am so behind in posting this update! It seems like I just don’t have the time or the energy to get to this blog, or even tweeting much these days! I feel like all I do is go to work, look up recipes, plan meals, make recipes, eat, clean up the mess I always make in the kitchen, workout, shower, and do any other necessary daily life things like laundry and paying bills, and then I don’t feel like doing another darn thing! I guess losing weight and getting healthy has become my life! I mean, seriously, I don’t have much of a social life because that is all I do! Even on weekends, I sleep in until 11:00 am, and I feel like doing nothing but relaxing (besides the working out, cooking, and eating I do!). And today, I don’t even feel like cooking or working out! I do have two social events planned for next weekend, so perhaps I should just give myself a break today. I tend to be so hard on myself, but I do deserve breaks. I also have to remember that getting healthy is my first priority now. I just hope that eventually I will get better at fitting in a social life with my healthy life. So on to the real matter at hand!…
So, how could I not be happy with this week’s weigh in results on Wednesday?!?! I had no idea I would have such a good week! I mean, I actually had several servings of potato chips this past weekend. In fact, I even had potato chips AS one of my meals! It was Valentine’s Day weekend really, so of course I was feeling all blue about being alone. So I went to the grocery store to purchase reduced fat potato chips, and I found my favorite Cape Cod 40% Reduced Fat Kettle Cooked Potato Chips in a new Aged Cheddar & Sour Cream flavor! (They’re 4 PointsPlus, but I tell ya, 1 ounce is really not a lot! No wonder Americans are so fat!) And then I HAD to get some chocolate, so I picked up some of those new Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp Milk Chocolate Candy Bars. (They’re 3 PointsPlus, and I actually like the Peanut Butter flavor better, but they were out!) Ok, so having chocolate and potato chips as your main food source isn’t necessarily route to perfect health, but by planning ahead, I was able to indulge in my Valentine’s day rebellion and still loose a significant amount of weight! Don’t worry, I eventually went back to having veggies in my diet!
Now after such a good weight loss, I am suspicious that the potato chip chocolate scandal may show up on the scale at the next weigh in! I think that is why I am so hard on myself and think that I don’t deserve a break even one day from working out today, especially on a Saturday when I have absolutely nothing planned. Well, the day’s not over, so we will see if I guilt myself into working out today!
So, what did I do this week?
- I used all 49 Weekly Points
- I earned 34 Activity Points (the most ever, I think!), logging 4 hrs and 39 min
- I swapped out 11 Activity Points, leaving 23 remaining
- I hit my Daily Points target only 1 day, I was under 1 day, and over 5 days
- I only met my Healthy Check Guidelines 3 of 7 days
Do I see a trend yet of what works and what doesn’t? Ummm, not really! LOL Actually, I guess I am seeing that working out more gives me more leeway… meaning, WORKING OUT MORE = CAN EAT MORE FOOD! And I’ve noticed on weeks that I don’t use my Weekly Points or only use a couple of them (which is VERY few weeks, by the way!), I don’t lose very much weight.
What’s amazing is that I have literally been tracking my food 7 days a week since December 28th, even when I had to completely estimate a dinner out, or I had 7 cocktails and a basket of chips & salsa with my girlfriend, or chocolate and potato chips for dinner! Yeah, the daily total looks crazy terrible, but boy do I make sure I am on track for the rest of the week until weigh in day on Wednesday!
And since I recommitted to my Weight Watchers journey on December 7th, I have tracked almost every day, except for 6 days when I was visiting my parents for Christmas. And in those last 10 weeks, although some weeks resulted in some very small losses, I have lost every single week!!! This is something that NEVER happened in my previous attempts with Weight Watchers! Not to mention, those losses have resulted in a total of 20.2 lbs in just the last 10 weeks! It is also the first time I achieved the 25 lbs star! And I have lost more weight already then I have ever done at one time on any diet! All this gives me hope that I am really going to do it this time. Funny that Weight Watchers should have the “Believe” theme going on this year, because I am really starting to believe that I can do this! I am so proud of myself for what I have done, I deserve a workout day off today, huh?!? 😉
Weight: 169.9 lbs

And if you’re wonder, it’s not actually week 10 on Weight Watchers, it’s just week 10 of giving weekly updates since re-committing myself to the program.
